Hi there! My name is Violet Craft. Seriously. That's my name. I'm a pretty normal girl living in Portlandia. I'm a wifey, a momma, a MAKE-er.
What have I been up to professionally for the past couple of decades?
I'm a licensed textile designer for Michael Miller Fabrics. My first collection Peacock Lane debuted at International Quilt Market in Salt Lake City, May 2011.
I'm a licensed pattern designer for Indygo Junction. My first pattern The Petal Blossom Bag debuted at International Quilt Market in Houston, October 2010.
I'm the owner and designer of Kung Fu Bambini children's clothing, a boutique wholesale children's clothing line manufactured in Portland, OR and distributed to 150+ stores in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Bermuda and the UK from 2004 - 2009.
A little history about Kung Fu Bambini:
kung fu Bambini was started in 2004, just a few short months before the birth of my second daughter, Cannon. With the inspiration of two ever-changing, active, amazing babies, the kung fu Bambini line is designed for a real day in the life of a real baby with important things to do, places to explore and a style all their own. We are dedicated to creating pieces that embrace the innocence and abandon that is the possession of every child as well as the durability, washability and irresistable charm that is the passion of every parent. Our clothing and accessories are made from plush European cotton interlock and luxurious premium cotton designer prints. We incorporate intricate detailed stitch edging and quilting and as 100% cotton garments tend to shrink, we have sized our garments to be true to size after normal washing procedures. Our products are all handcrafted in the USA. They are tried and tested on real, busy babies, are of a quality we are proud to stand by and wash up like a dream. Just like we wanted - and we're sure you did too.
Prior to 2004 I made one of a kind outfits under the business name of KungFuGrrl by Mommy and Mia.
Prior to that you could find me under the fluorescent lights of various software companies, on a bar floor (I mean in class of course!), or running the front end of a major grocery chain. Or opening personal bank accounts, or installing software in sheriff's offices, or tending behind that bar, or arranging flowers, or painting houses... oh hell, what haven't I done for a living, really?
