Sold our Portland home, hooray!
Buyers backed out, boo!
Went to Kansas City quilt market, hooray!
Resold our home, hooray!
Moved to Manzanita, OR, hooray!
Came down with the flu, boo!
Followed that up with walking pneumonia, boo!
We live at the beach (for now), hooray!
Feeling better and back to work now, hooray!
Now that we've got that over with, hehehe, let's move on, hooray!
This is the Madrona Road Neighborhood quilt made for me by my dear friend, Elizabeth Hartman. The pattern is from her newest book, Modern Patchwork. Elizabeth blogged in much more detail about the pattern and her book in this post.
My little helper Cannon was barely tall enough to hold up the quilt for me, but she was a trooper! This was taken on the front porch of the house next to ours here in Manzanita. I love how it looks like the quilt could have been styled off of this house - but it wasn't at all.
The quilt can be seen here in my Spring Quilt Market booth. This photo was taken by Adrianne, known by most as Little Bluebell. Her photo was about a million times better than mine :)

Today it is 78 degrees here. That is about ten degrees warmer than it has been most of the summer. I think I'll go outside now and breathe in some of it. My lungs are still on the mend and I'm moving pretty slowly. This little slow town is just about the perfect place to heal.

Hooray, welcome back! And Hooray for more hoorays than boos! Moving is alot like work, only not as fun and that pneumonia is rough, take care of yourself!
ReplyDeletep.s. Beautiful quilt from beautiful Madrona Road!
i love your new fabric line so much! it is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLoving your new fabric!!! Cute house too! Do the neighbours know you used it as a prop?
ReplyDeleteDoubtful... but I don't think they'd care :) They're only there about one weekend every few months! We just moved to a beach town and it's just sort of known that your house is everyone else's photo backdrop and playground. We have swings in our yard and find kids playing in our yard all the time. No one has fences and it's all just sort of one big playground. Now, if I find someone in my hot tub, we'll have words. ha!
DeleteBeautiful fabric!
ReplyDeleteWhat is the pattern for the dress in your quilt show booth?
Thank you! Well, that pattern is called the Not So Formal Occasion Dress - and it was supposed to be finished last month. It is one of my new pattern and I hope to have all six patterns released very soon. I am completing the Broken Herringbone Quilt pattern today and the dress will be next. Moving and pneumonia threw a wrench in my timeline. Thank you so much for asking! If you send me an email with your email address I can let you know when it is finished! violet at violetcraft d0t com
