A couple of weeks ago I was looking for a bag to use for some randomness. Seriously, I think I needed a bag to carry all of Cannon's precious goodies from the studio that day or something. So, I grabbed my laptop bag off the shelf. See, my laptop never actually leaves the house anymore. Poor little guy just moves from the couch to the kitchen table and occasionally to my desk. So, I open up my bag and lying there in the bottom is one little blue dongle. I swear the clouds parted, the sun shone and I heard singing! It was just lying in there too. All alone and free in the bottom of this hard-sided bag. Like it would have taken blinders to miss it when I last cleaned it out. oi.
I've been busy playing ever since! This is one of the first designs I completed and actually used for production. It's called Modern Vine and I've combined it in the Twirl Skirt sets here and with the Fresh Twirl Skirt on etsy here. I still love that color combination so much. It is a combination of Flea Market Fancy by Denyse Schmidt and Bohemian by Anna Maria Horner. I've used other prints from both of the lines, but I just love crossing lines and coming up with such fun and more unexpected combinations. I've crossed seasons in the past too. As usual I'm completely off topic.
Below is a design that is still in progress, Pinwheel Posies. So far I have the shape of the pinwheel style flowers done and the embroidery design is completed and digitized but I am having a problem with the size of hoop working with the tiny 0-3 month bodysuits so I'm reworking part of the design for a smaller hoop.
The girls talked me into this design. They both really love unicorns and they really love for mama to make them something new. Mia can't wait to choose fabric for each project. She has several piles laid out at the studio with her instructions as to what she'd like done with them. For the unicorn applique project both girls chose Amy Butler prints from my super-special-stash. Mia chose the pink and tangerine french paisley from the Ginger Bliss collection and Cannon chose a lavender daisy willow print from the same collection. Good taste, ladies! We put these on some lettuce edge tees and I used a contrasting blanket stitch around the sleeves.
